Islamic schools turning pupils away

Belgium’s three Islamic primary schools and the new Islamic high school, all located in Brussels, are unable to supply the demand for places. As a result some 200 applications have been rejected, according to La Libre Belgique and La Dernière Heure on Friday.

The three primary schools, located in Etterbeek (AlGhazali) Molenbeek (The Pen) and Schaerbeek (Virtue), have each had to decline between 50 and 70 students, totaling 200 students.

A new Islamic primary school is scheduled to open in Forest in 2016.
