A dangerous car-chase took place in Antwerp on Saturday, local police have said. An unidentified man committed an infraction with a rented car. He fled in the vehicle, and hit a 7 year old child, who was seriously injured.
The man also tried to run down two police officers on motorbikes in the street where he hit the child, but they were able to avoid him, at the cost of some light injuries.
After an intense car-chase through Berchem and Borgerhout, the driver crashed his car into five other parked cars. He continued to flee on foot.
Police are still looking for him.
