Mobistar increases its 2015 forecasts

Mobistar has seen its third-quarter turnover increase by +0.9% to 276.8 million euros compared to the same period last year, the mobile telephone business indicated on Tuesday in a statement. This return to growth, coupled with good commercial results, has allowed the group to increase its forecasts for the 2015 financial year.

EBITDA - Earnings Before Income Taxation Depreciation and Amortization - (before redundancy and restructuring costs) reached 86 million euros in the third quarter, the equivalent of +11.3% in one year. The results indicate that the average income gained per customer (ARPU) increased, rising to 28.3 euros during Q3, as opposed to 27.4 euros one year previously, a rise of 3.6%.

The group’s operational cash flow reached 112.5 million euros, a 63.3% rise when compared to Q3 2014. The retail customer base of the operator in Belgium showed an increase of 23,400 new clients in the third quarter of 2015. The results show the number of new pay monthly customers is again positive with an increase of 8,300 customers during the same period.

The results, as much financial as commercial, allow Mobistar to adopt a much more optimistic approach and to increase its forecasts for earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization. The group expects to exceed the top end of its range, which was initially comprised of between 260 and 280 million euros.
