Diable Rouge Marouane Fellaini and his father scoop UnitedHumans Award 2015

The Belgian footballer Marouane Fellaini has scooped the 2015 UnitedHumans Award along with his father. Their social commitment and desire to keep out of the spotlight were sufficient reasons for the judging panel to present the award to them, announced a press release from the organisers on Monday.

The annual award is given to “a person, association or organisation which encourages mutual respect, genuine friendship and equality in dignity in a continuous or exceptional way, and which has a real impact upon society.” UnitedHumans was created in 2009 with a view to commending mutual respect.

The Diable Rouge player and his father will officially receive the award in March 2016 and will become ambassadors for the organisation. Last year, the first award ceremony, the choreographers Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui et Damien Jalet received the award.
