Slight rise in consumer confidence in December

The index of consumer confidence has improved slightly in December for the third month running. It is now at -3 against -4 in November, and -12 in December 2014, pointed out BNB (National Bank of Belgium) in a press release on Friday.

“Fear of increased unemployment in the next twelve months has somewhat dropped once again, following a trend started early in 2013,” notes BNB.

Households personal situation remains almost unchanged compared to last month. Their financial situation should be stable at -2, and their savings see a modest growth from 1 to 2.
