A fifteen-year-old teenager died after a road accident in Gits, in the town of Hooglede (Western Flanders), on Thursday night. The young girl was run over by a car as she was cycling on the road. The driver of the incident fled and is actively sought.
The exact circumstances of the accident are unknown. The young cyclist was taken to hospital in a critical state, but emergency services could not save her.
