Man suspected of child pornography arrested for questioning in Louvain-la-Neuve

An individual was arrested for child pornography on Sunday, having had child pornography photos developed in a shop in Louvain-la-Neuve, stated the Walloon Brabant Public Prosecutor on Monday. A manager from the shop FNAC in Louvain-la-Neuve contacted the police, explaining that photos inclining towards child pornography had just been developed at the request of a customer. The photos were of a young boy of about ten years old.

It very quickly became apparent that it was his grandfather who had asked for the contentious photos to be developed. Once identified, the Louvain-la-Neuve resident was arrested and his home searched. The suspect was detained. The investigating judge in charge of the case prolonged the detention by twenty-four hours so as to be able to carry out the video hearing with the assumed victim, the Nivelles Public Prosecutor stated.
