Selor received 77,411 applications for federal jobs

77,411 applicants turned to Selor, the administration’s recruitment office, to find work with federal authorities, with or without a contract, in 2015. Testing and languages were not taken into account. 139,243 people applied for jobs at Selor in the previous year.

41% fewer jobs were offered in 2015 compared to 2014, which partially explains the decrease in the number of applicants. Another probable explanation is the type of jobs on offer, points out Selor’s Aurélie Damster.

There were fewer jobs on offer because of a hiring freeze in place until May 2015.

There were more French-speakers applying (56.72%) in 2015, just like in the previous year. The share of under-35s remains more or less the same at 62.83%.
