Ten ski resorts open in the Eastern counties and the Luxemburg Province

Ten ski resorts in the South of Belgium are still open in the second weekend of March, the East Tourism Agency and Belgian Luxemburg Tourism Federation have said. Alpine skiing is only available in the baraque Fraiture resorts in the Luxemburg and Ovifat Provinces, in the Eastern counties.

You can do cross-country ski in the Hautes Fagnes, or the Signal de Botrange stations, the Maison du Parc in Botrange, at Mont Spinette, at Baraque Michel or Mont Rigi.

The Loscheimergraben centres in the Haute Vallée de l’Or and the Schönberg centre (Saint-Vith) are still accessible in the East, along with the Samrée, near La Roche-en-Ardenne, in the Luxemburg Province.

There is a 20 centimetre layer of snow in most of the centres still open. The Eupen, Bütgenbach, Baugnez, Val de Wanne (Trois-Points) and Their des Rexhons centres (Spa) are shut.

Some resorts in the Eastern Provinces have been open since the third of March, so 10 days in a row. That means there have been 22 skiing days in the 2015-2016 Winter season.
