This was reported by the Flemish papers De Standaard and Het Laatste Nieuws, and confirmed to the Belga agency. “It was talked about during the National Security Council meeting”, a source said.
Earlier in the week, a rumour about a possible attack on a shopping centre and a fast food chain was published. On Saturday, Het Nieuwsblad announced that 4 federal ministers had been under police protection since Friday evening. There is a lot of frustration within the government. “Human lives are at risk”, it said. Those involved are not the only ones in danger; it is also dangerous for ministers not under protection and police informants.
