Number of reservations in the “Flemish cities of art” nosedives following Brussels attacks

The Brussels attacks of March 22nd had a negative impact on the number of reservations in the so-called “Flemish cities of art.” The Flemish Tourist Board said as much in De Tijd on Sunday, confirming the figures of the Flemish Minister for Tourism, Ben Weyts.

The number of reservations in the Flemish cities of art (Bruges, Ghent, Antwerp, Malines and Leuven) which represent some 60% of overnight stays in the region, has reduced since April by 10 to 15%, compared to last year. May saw a reduction by 15%.

Brussels hotels recorded a more significant decrease of 22%.
