A Belgian mentioned in another threatening IS audio message

A new audio message suggests a young Belgian IS member is preparing to attack Belgium. The Het Laatste Nieuws got to listen to the message and transcribed it. La Dernière Heure reported on the story on Saturday.

The audio message refers to Frenchman Rachid Kassim talking about filming videos “for the brothers before the attack”. It does not specify which attackers or target he is talking about. Kassim is a chief within the organisation, and is suspected of being behind the murder of French priest Jacques Hamel.

The speaker does mention a Belgian, “Al-Belgiki Abu Isleym, Al-Belgiki”. According to HLN, he is talking about Brussels resident Azzedine El Khadaabia, who went to Syria in autumn 2014. He left to join Abdelhamid Abaaoud’s former squadron.
