Former professional football player Ernest Eboué, whose foundation Football Is My Dream (FIMD) fights discrimination, presented Thursday the gala match to be held Sunday, September 18th at the Boscailles Stadium in Walhain (Walloon Brabant), six months following the Brussels attacks. This friendly match will bring together present and past players, as well as political and media figures.
Eric Gerets, Georges Heylens, Mbo Mpenza, and Youssouf Hadji are some of the names already announced for former players. The match will be livened up by musical entertainment. The aim of FIMD is not to raise funds, but rather to put into practice, for an afternoon, the notion of "living together", sending messages of solidarity, sharing and respect.
The event, to take place from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m. is also meant to pay homage to the victims of the attacks and to the rescue services staff who carried out operations on March 22nd in Brussels. Admission is free for those under 18 and 5 euros for adults. There will be free shuttles from the Gembloux Station to the Boscailles Stadium, with a capacity of 1,800 spectators.
