A Belgian scooped 168,085,323 euros in Tuesday night’s EuroMillions prize draw. This was a record amount for the country.
The Belgian was the only jackpot winner yesterday.
The spokeswoman, Kristel Vervloessem, commented, “We simply know that the winner is from Belgium. We know nothing more.”
Generally, most lottery winners wish to remain anonymous. However, the Lottery does request to be able to make certain details public, such as the region and the winner’s age.
As indicated above, this was the highest amount that any Belgian has ever snatched up in the EuroMillions draw.
The last ever highest Belgian bonanza happened in 2007, when a player from the Tirlemont region scooped 100 million euros.
