CPAS means boosted as part of refugee integration

Yesterday (Thursday) parliament adopted almost unanimously, a bill relating to CPAS (the Public Social Assistance Centre). Only Vlaams Belang (the right-wing Flemish nationalist populist party) voted against it.

This will monitor the support it provides for refugees and individuals benefiting from subsidiary protection, following the asylum crisis.

The purpose of this law is to grant an additional subsidy, which is equivalent to 10% of the total subsidised by social assistance or the social integration allowance.
