Belgian exports rise by 7% in September
Belgian exports were up during the month of September.

Compared to the same period last year, Belgian exports showed a year-on-year increase of 7% in September going up to 21.4 billion euros. Imports increased by 3.3% to 20.6 billion euros. The trade balance was in the black by 0.8 billion euros, the National Bank of Belgium (NBB) indicated in its initial estimate yesterday (Tuesday).

During the period from January to August, exports climbed by 2.9% to 161.2 billion euros. Imports increased by 1% during this period to 156.9 billion euros.

Belgium’s current trade surplus is 4.3 billion euros.

In August, a trade surplus of 1 billion euros was recorded, compared to a deficit of 1.1 billion euros a year earlier.
