The Foreign Minister, Didier Reynders opened a new pub called “La mort Subite” (or “Sudden Death”) in Austin, Texas - United States yesterday (Sunday).
It has the same name as a pub in the Belgian capital and sells almost exclusively Belgian beers, indeed for the most part on draught.
The similarity between the two beer-selling public houses stops right at their name. This is because the Austin pub was created by local citizens.
One such citizen was determined, during an extended stay in Brussels for academic study purposes, to open a pub selling Belgian beers in the US.
On sale, there are around twenty beers from the North, the South and the centre of Belgium.
