The Miss World competition was won yesterday (Sunday) in Washington by the Puerto Rican, Stephanie Del Valle.
Letty Frans, the Belgian beauty queen gained some recognition by finishing in the top ten.
This is an accolade which none of her fellow Belgians has achieved since 1996. The organising committee for Miss Belgium mentioned this.
The Antwerp medical student, Frans, aged 22 years, “represented Belgium and, as the last European candidate to go, led a discussion around health and the importance of access to healthcare.”
Miss Puerto Rico won the competition in the end, ahead of Miss Dominican Republic and Miss Indonesia.
