Commuters are asked to remain vigilant if they need to travel on roads on Monday night. This message has been sent out on Monday by “Road action Unit”, part of Wallonias regional crisis centre in conjunction with the Belgian federal police.
“According to the latest meteorological measurements, there will be an expected snow fall of 1 to 2 centimetres”, according to the crisis unit.
“All the conventional methods to secure commuters driving on the roads will be employed in order to keep traffic circulation in safe and good conditions. All commuters are invited to adapt their speed, avoid sudden manoeuvers and to keep safe distant between the cars” the communication continues.
The Belgian meteorological institute (IRM), expects icy pavements throughout the territory which could disturb pedestrians, cyclists and slow down the traffic.
