Louvain derailment – Rail traffic should return to normal on Monday

Repair work needed after a train derailed near Louvain on Saturday last week is almost finished. Infrabel, which manages the railway network, made the announcement on Sunday. Traffic around the Flemish Brabant should return to normal on Monday.

“It looks good”, said an Infrabel spokesman. “The tracks and catenaries are fixed. We still have finishing work and checks to do. Unless something unexpected happens, rail traffic should be back to normal on Monday”.

The inquiry into the accident is still ongoing.
