A Tongres Instruction judge ordered a 63 year old man be remanded in custody on Saturday. He is suspected of stabbing a 38 year old woman, his ex-partner, to death in Lanaken that day.
The 63 year old is suspected of stabbing his ex-partner in a Europaplein catering establishment at around 2am on Saturday. The victim was stabbed in the torso. She was rushed to hospital in a critical condition, but later died from her injuries.
The suspect was arrested by Lanaken-Malines police later that day. The Limburg Prosecutor’s Office has decided to charge him with murder. It is thought jealousy caused him to commit the crime.
