AB InBev will invest $2 billion (equating to €1.8 billion) by 2020 in its US breweries. This year alone, the capital expenditure figure earmarked is $500 million (€455.4 million). This was indicated yesterday evening by the US arm of the company, Anheuser-Busch.
In 2017 there will, for example, be $200 million spent upon brewery projects and distribution, and $180 million on packaging and innovation.
Anheuser-Busch is the US market leader. This success is mainly due to the so-called Pils-Bud and its “sister” variety, Bud Light. However that having been said, Anheuser-Busch’s market share is currently declining.
In recent years, the beer giant has successfully incorporated several US breweries within its brand.
Anheuser-Busch stresses that the new capital investment injection will play a huge part in its growth strategy.
