Missing baby in Quaregnon thought to have been found dead on Sunday evening

The newborn, who police had been looking for since Sunday morning in the Monsville district of Quaregnon, is thought to have been found dead by the police and Civil Protection on Sunday evening. This was indicated by Sudpresse yesterday evening (Sunday).

A young girl from Quaregnon turned up on Sunday morning around 5.30 a.m. at the emergency services at the Centre Hospitalier Epicura Hornu (Hornu hospital), presenting the symptoms of delivery, but without her baby.

After examining the facts, the Mons Public Prosecutor’s Office confirmed the birth of a child in the night of Saturday evening and Sunday morning. The judicial authorities said that the young woman was very confused, and continued to deny having delivered the baby, and even the fact that she had been pregnant.

The Mons Public Prosecutor yesterday evoked a denial of pregnancy.

Yesterday late in the evening, Sudpresse indicated that searches led by local and federal police and Civil Protection, in the Quaregnon investigation, may possibly have resulted in the discovery, during the evening, of the baby’s body.
