US pulls out of Paris agreement: Climate Express calls for demonstration outside Brussels American Embassy
Climate Express’s stance on Trump's decision: “Let’s jump out of our armchair and make him see that the world will not accept this state of affairs.”

The citizen organisation Climate Express, which had actively argued in favour of an ambitious agreement on the margins of the COP21 at the end of 2015, called during last night (Thursday night/Friday morning) for a demonstration. This is to be held outside the Brussels American Embassy at the end of Friday afternoon (today). The movement launched an initiative on the various social networks dubbed “Don't Trump our Climate #fossilfuelsnotwelcome.” This was in reaction to the announcement by the American President, Donald Trump, of his decision to pull the United States (“the US”) out of the Paris climate agreement.

Climate Express indicated in its introduction, “Donald Trump has decided to leave the Paris agreement. This is an attack against the planet and a gigantic retrograde step in the fight against climate change. Let’s jump out of our armchair and make him see that the world will not accept this state of affairs.” The organisation’s meeting will take place at 6 p.m. outside the Brussels American Embassy on Boulevard du Régent.

The activists went on, “Now more than ever we should join forces, across all borders, and defend a fair and sustainable transition.”
