A larger operation involving Belgian federal police and local police units will carry out thousands of alcohol tests over the weekend. The operation starts at 18h00 on Friday and lasts until 6h00 Monday morning. The tests will be carried out throughout the country on both motorways as well as regional and municipal roads.
In the last similar large scale operation, 22 769 drivers were tested. 3.09% of them were driving under the influence of alcohol.
