Louvain-la-Plage returns for a month and celebrates its tenth birthday

From Thursday July 6th until Sunday August 6th the golden sandy beach will return to the Grand-Place in Louvain-la-Neuve, for the tenth year running. Louvain-la-Plage has daily free activities and games available, but also a series of creative workshops, demonstrations and even concerts.

Amongst the novelties announced to mark the tenth anniversary, there is a “mobile thalassotherapy beauty treatment unit” with a sauna demonstration from July 6th from 12 noon to 4 p.m., and a wellness area on-site each evening, from July 20th to July 22nd. Access to this wellness area set up by the sandy beach, including a Nordic bath for eight people and a sauna for six people - both heated on a wood fire, will be a paying service. There is no requirement for compulsory booking, except for groups.

In addition to sunbeds, hammocks, giant games, bouncy castles and other go-carts offered every day to visitors, organisers anticipate one-off and weekly activities. These include a children’s visit to the Hergé Museum leaving from the beach (on Thursday afternoons), the presence of a climbing wall on Sunday July 9th and Sunday July 23rd and even demonstrations of board games on Sunday July 16th, Sunday July 23rd and Sunday July 30th. As regards concerts, there will be two groups playing every Saturday evening from 8.30 p.m.
