Three people were stabbed to death on Tuesday evening, shortly after 9 p.m. in Moere in West Flanders. The victims were a young girl aged 17 and her grandparents. The perpetrator of the knife wounds is thought to be a young man, aged 25, from Varsenare (Jabbeke).
It is thought to have been the young girl’s ex-boyfriend. He fled after the incident, and it is not clear whether or not the police have intercepted him in the meantime.
The man first attacked the young girl. The grandparents may then have intervened, to attempt to bring the young man under control. He left a goodbye message of sorts on Facebook. The parents of the young victim were on holiday and learned the news via the social media network.
