Triple homicide suspect questioned by police

The triple homicide suspect of the Moere murders was again questioned by police on Sunday. This was indicated by the Bruges division of the West Flanders Public Prosecutor's Office, without revealing further details as to the contents of the interview.

Alexander D. (25) is suspected of having stabbed his ex-girlfriend, aged 18, and her grandparents, on Tuesday evening in Moere (Gistel). The exact circumstances of the tragedy are not yet known. The man fled after the incident before, being questioned on Wednesday around 7 p.m. in Ostend.

The individual originally from Varsenare may also be involved in the death of a 39-year-old man in Mont-Saint-Amand, found dead at his home.

The investigators have already questioned Alexander D. extensively in the context of the Moere murders, before the investigating judge placed him under arrest.

On Sunday, the man was once again subject to a police hearing. However, for the moment, his lawyer Amélie van Belleghem did not wish to make public her client’s statements. The Defence will only have access to the file on Monday.
