Francken contrasts Maximilian Park migrants to lorry drivers
Theo Francken says, “There have never been so many problems on car parks and insecurity.”

The Secretary of State for Asylum and Migration, Theo Francken, mentioned his objection to the decision by Brussels City Council to make a building available to welcome migrants in winter. He indicated on Tuesday that this will create a “suction effect”, speaking on La Première (RTBF). He says that this will be a source of crime in the E40 car parks towards the coast. He said that there are “other migrants” living in a state of insecurity, these being lorry drivers.

The N-VA Secretary of State said, “Offering migrants a building is worse. It is not right. “ That having been said, he evidenced his empathy towards lorry drivers, 80% of whom are Romanian, Bulgarian and Polish. The latter are at the heart of an anti-dumping agreement made on Monday, through European level intervention.

Theo Francken denounced, “There have never been so many problems on car parks and insecurity.” At the same time migrants in transit are attempting to reach England in lorries, and parking along the E40 during their driver breaks.
