New record for carbon dioxide concentration in atmosphere

The carbon dioxide concentrations (CO2) in the atmosphere, responsible for global warming, reached a new record in 2016. This was announced on Monday by the Global Meteorological Organization (GMO). This warns against “a dangerous increase in temperature.”

This was mentioned by the UN in its annual bulletin on greenhouse gases, “The last time that the earth saw a comparable CO2 concentration was three to five million years ago. Then the temperature was 2 to 3°C higher, and the sea level was 10 to 20 metres higher, than the current level.”
