Government wants to slash Prince Laurent’s allowance by 15%

Belgium’s Government wants to slash the allowance of Prince Laurent by 15% as the penalty for his controversial participation in a reception at the Chinese Embassy, according to a spokesman of Prime Minister Charles Michel. Laurent, the younger brother of King Philip, had been photographed in late July at a ceremony marking the 90th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese army. He had not informed the Government of his intention to attend the ceremony.
