King Albert II undergoes medical tests
The tests will enable doctors to determine the treatment the King needs.

King Albert II, aged 83, was undergoing a number of medical examinations on Thursday. He is suffering from an abnormal stricture (stenosis) of the aortic valve, which the Palais Royal has explained in a communiqué “…requires identification with a view to appropriate treatment for his particular case.”

The tests on Thursday will enable doctors to determine the treatment the King must receive thereafter.

The aortic valve is one of the main heart valves located between the heart and the aorta.
