The first festival-goers to Rock Werchter, actually taking place in Werchter, will soon be able to pitch their tents, indeed from 2 p.m. this afternoon. The four-day festival kicks off, with the first concerts on Thursday.

Today only campers holding a ticket for “The Hive”, the official campsite, will be able to get settled in. Those who have bought a ticket for pitches operated by individuals will only be able to pitch their tent on Thursday morning, from 8 a.m.

There are around 100 groups this year on the line-up for the festival, which is certainly good value for a multitude of rock fans. On Thursday, Queens Of The Stone Age and Gorrilaz will start the ball rolling, notably followed by Snow Patrol, London Grammar and The Killers on Friday. Saturday will see well-known artists such as Jack White and Pearl Jam making the audience move, before the must-see Nick Cave and Arctic Monkeys on Sunday.

Moreover a fourth stage, dubbed The Slope, will provide a space for new talent. Belgian groups such as Equal Idiots and Faces On TV will perform, amongst others, alongside the American group The White Buffalo and the Irish members of The Academic.
