Slightly cooler weekend, then hotter Monday, IRM says

After a hot Friday afternoon with temperatures expected to reach as high as 30°C in Haute Ardennes and 35°C in Campine, the weather will remain dry and the skies clear on the night of Friday to Saturday, the Royal Meteorological Institute (IRM) announced on Friday. Temperatures will fall to between 15°C and 20°C during the night.

Saturday will be sunny in the morning, followed by some clouds in the afternoon and evening in the northwest. Temperatures will hover between 28°C and 33°C in the interior of the country. In coastal areas, they will not exceed 23°C or 24°C.

On Sunday, a cold front attenuated by high pressure will begin in the early morning, coming in from Germany and Lorraine, France. The morning will be cloudy but dry. The skies will be clear in the morning in coastal areas before the sun comes out throughout the country in the afternoon.

There will be a brief respite from the heat, with maximum levels ranging from 23°C along the coast to 29°C in Campine.

Temperatures will rise again on Monday, with highs expected to be between 26°C and 32°C.
