The Belgian winner of EuroMillions who scooped €107 million last week made himself known to the National Lottery, the latter organization announced on Tuesday. The Flemish father, who wishes to remain anonymous, also won the largest amount ever won in Belgium on this game.
There is a 1 in 140 million chance of this occurrence. It was “sufficient” for this man “aged between 35 and 40” to win a sum of €107,839,228 thanks to one of the four ‘Quick Pick’ combinations that he played. He is the 31st Belgian to have scooped the jackpot since the creation of EuroMillions in 2004, and the second this year. A man from Liège pocketed €17 million in April.
The man wishes to give part of his winnings to good causes and to enable his children to benefit from the winnings as well. He confided that he had played the game ever since it has existed, and that he likes festivals.
He scooped the third largest amount ever won on EuroMillions in Belgium. As a reminder, the largest Belgian winner - a Brusseler over 45 - had pocketed €168 million on October 11th, 2016.
