The royal couple attend the Tanners Workshop as part of Car free Sunday

King Philippe, Queen Mathilde and their youngest two children Princess Eléonore and Prince Emmanuel cycled to the Tanners Workshop in Brussels on Sunday afternoon. A spokesman from the palace spoke to the Belga agency and told them the royal family has a habit going into Brussels town centre on "Car free Sunday".

The palace released a few photos where you can see the royal couple and two of their four children. In the photos, the family (dressed in pink) can be seen arriving in rue des Tanneurs in the Marolles quarter. This is near the Saint-Jean-Berchmans school that Princess Eléonore and Prince Gabriel attend. They were all wearing cycling helmets, except King Philippe.

The Tanners Workshop, a business centre and events area, hosts around sixty local businesses. It focuses on small structures which are just starting up and ecologically responsible. The entrepreneurs have access to a wide range of services to help them develop their activity. The Tanners Workshop’s promotors say they also have professional animations that help build connections and exchanges. They are based in the former Palais du vin and big Merchie-Pède stores.
