Air Belgium pursues its operations

Faced with a difficult financial situation, after the suspension of its partnership with its main partner, UTour, the airline Air Belgium was debating its future on Thursday. The Board of Directors had called an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders to consider the issue of the company’s continuity or dissolution.

On Thursday evening, Air Belgium indicated, “The management set out the actions undertaken, as part of its business plan. The shareholders took account of these, and saw no reason to question the continuity of the company.”

The company went on, “Meetings with shareholders will take place in the coming weeks, so as to keep them abreast of the follow-up for the action already in progress.”

To overcome the temporary suspension of its Charleroi-Hong Kong link, the company is operating flights for third-party airlines at a higher frequency than it was previously.
