Didier Reynders will also become Defence minister

Deputy Prime Minister Didier Reynders (MR) will become Defence minister, as well as Foreign Affairs and European Affairs minister. His new role was revealed by Prime minister Charles Michel on Sunday. 

A royal decree will determine the new government composition and what all the ministers are responsible for. 

Maggie De Block (Open Vld) will also be made Asylum and Immigration minister. Deputy Prime Minister Alexander De Croo will be Finance and Development Cooperation minister and Pieter De Crem (CD&V) will be Interior and Security minister. 

Philippe De Backer (Open Vld) will become Postal and Telecom minister once again, as well as Digital Agenda minister. 

Justice minister Koen Geens (CV&V) will be Building Regulation minister. 

The Minister’s council met at 3pm on Sunday.
