The Brussels Motor Show opened to the press on Friday morning, before doing likewise for the general public on Saturday. They can come to the show at Brussels Expo in Heysel until 27th January. Prince Laurent will officially open this 97th motor show, in the section devoted to light commercial vehicles.
Each year, between 4% to 5% of the Belgian population attend this show. Moreover, the organisers bank upon some 400,000 to 450,000 people visiting, given that the previous “odd-numbered” year’s show, which was also devoted to utility vehicles, attracted a record number of 437,000 people in 2017.
The event indeed continues to attract not only the public, but also exhibitors, compared to a number of other motor shows in Europe, which do not succeed in comprising a representative sample of the car market. Across the 110,000 metres squared display area, all of the main automobile manufacturers active on the European market will consequently be involved.
This surface area will also be used to promote motorized two-wheelers, commercial utility vehicles, heavy vehicles - themselves new forms of mobility, and shared mobility.
Cars and commercial utility vehicles will share seven halls, one of which is entirely devoted to ‘Dream Cars’, an exhibition for luxury vehicles. Motorised two-wheelers will have two exhibition halls, whilst the temporary exhibition #WeAreMobility will devote one hall to providing a special focus on (new) mobility solutions.
