A total lunar eclipse could be seen Monday morning from Belgium. The spectacular phenomenon was also visible from other European countries, in Africa and in North and South America.
Given the dry weather and clear skies in Belgium the night between Sunday and Monday, weather conditions were ideal to observe the total eclipse. The shadow of the Earth slowly started to hide the Moon at 4.33 am Monday morning, and an hour later, the eclipse was complete.
The next total lunar eclipse visible from Europe will take place on 16 May, 2022, but partial eclipses will occur in the meantime.
