Firefighters discover cannabis farm after barn fire

A cannabis growing operation was discovered following a fire in a barn in West Flanders on Tuesday morning. The fire started around 8 o'clock in a barn and a shed along Haelinckstraat in Zevekote, a part of Gistel, according to reports.

Several fire brigades came to the site to control the fire. A fire expert has been appointed to find out the exact cause of the fire.

Following the fire, a cannabis farm was discovered inside the barn in question. The size of the farm is currently unclear, but the operation is reported to have involved professional equipment.

The police made the necessary observations on the spot and then arrested three family members: the father and mother and the son, reports HLN. The public prosecutor's office in Bruges will announce its findings later today.
