Belgium's trains were a little more punctual than last February, according to new figures. In February 2019, 90.2% of the trains arrived on time, according to figures from the Infrabel network operator and SNCB. In 2018, punctuality was 87.3%.
In the figures 'on time' means less than six minutes late.
Delays were mainly attributed to SNCB (36.3%), third parties (35.9%) and Infrabel (23.8%).
Fewer trains were removed from service in 2019, with 2,115 against 3,446 a year ago.
The discovery of a body on the tracks at La Hulpe (1,900 minutes late), a train failure in Brussels-Central (1,756 minutes) and the collision of a person in Sainte (1,665 minutes) accounted for most delays on the network in February 2019.
