Work on one of the biggest photovoltaic parks in Wallonia is expected to start in Tertre over the next few weeks. Tertre is in St Ghislaine, Hainaut. L’Echo reported on the story on Saturday. It revealed a new company called Gallée Energy 1 is behind the new park.
The park will include around 20,00 solar panels and is expected to produce “6,300 MWh of green electricity a year. That’s roughly enough for 2,000 households”, according to Edouard Gallée.
His company holds 45% of Gallée Energy 1. The other shareholders are Belgian company Perpetum Energy Holding (45%) and IMBC Capital Risque (10%). The latter is a branch of the Invest Mons-Borinage-Centre. Mr Gallée’s company is also financially backing the new park with a subordinated loan.
Mr Gallée says the panels will be delivered “at the end of June or beginning of July. If everything goes well, we will be connected to the network on the 31st October."
