After an envelope containing suspicious powder has been found in a bank office in Waregem, the staff was placed in quarantine while they wait for the civil protection service to investigate the powder.
One staff member of the KBC bank office in the Stationsstraat in Waregem immediately called the police after discovering the white powder in the envelope. "At this point, we do not have more information," mayor Kurt Vanryckeghem (CD&V) said. "Further investigation will have to bring clarity."
As a precaution, the staff that was present at the moment of the discovery was put in quarantine.
