Belgian supermarket chain Delhaize announced on Wednesday the withdrawal from the sale of Yellow lentil Lasagne and spaghetti from the brand 'More Than Pasta' after the discovery of traces of gluten within the gluten-free product.
Pedon, which markets these products, has decided in consultation with the Federal Agency for the Safety of the Food Chain (FASFC) to withdraw them from sale and to issue a recall of the product targeted at consumers who are allergic to gluten. A presence of this allergen was found in this product, which is labelled gluten-free, according to Belga.
Pedon company asks its customers not to consume this product and kindly bring it back to the point of sale where it will be refunded.
For non-allergic consumers, the product is safe and can be consumed without risk, according to reports.
The batch concerned is number 0587. The expiry date is March 23, 2020.
