The police found a suspect wanted for a murder in Grâce-Hollogne, Liège they had been seeking for 10 years, during a routine police check. The Liège council chamber has confirmed the arrest warrant of one of the two people suspected of the murder of Luc Verheyen in Grâce-Hollogne on 11 October 2009, reported Le Soir.

Verheyen, a 40-year old man who lived alone with his 13-year-old daughter, had been found in a pool of blood at his home 10 years ago. The autopsy revealed that the man had died from two stab wounds.

Several days after the crime, Verheyen's phone was reactivated. The new owner at the time explained, and witnesses confirmed his story, that he had bought the device from Mustapha Belkacemi, who was known to the courts for several criminal acts in Charleroi. An international arrest warrant had been issued against him, but he has still not been apprehended.

His accomplice, however, was recently intercepted during a routine police check in Germany. His fingerprints corresponded to those found at the crime scene, and he was charged with robbery-murder.
