Aldi recalls dried fruits because of mould risk
Wholesaler in fruits and vegetables Lorre N.V, has recalled their classic and exotic Mendiants (small chocolate disks studded with nuts and dried fruits) from the Trader Joe's brand, sold via Aldi.  It concerns all Mendiants sold between 18 March 2019 and Friday 24 May 2019. The remaining products have already been withdrawn from stores.

High levels of ochratoxin A have been detected in organic dried sultana raisins, and the wholesaler, in consultation with the Federal Agency for the Safety of the Food Chain (AFSCA), decided to remove these products from sale.

Ochratoxin A produces mould and can be present in a variety of products such as cereals, coffee, rice and raisins.
