35 Walloon parks and gardens to discover this weekend

35 public and private green spaces will open their doors to the public on Saturday and Sunday.

This will be the third “Walloon parks and garden weekend”, says Johanne Dendoncker, a coordinator for the association that is organising the weekend.

The aim is to allow people discover these places. This year, the organisers also want to inform people about water usage.

“The theme is ‘Wallonia, land of water’. Water is a rare commodity that we should use responsibly. Participating parks and gardens will be open for free all weekend. There are a few exceptions, who will ask for a contribution to a good cause. There will be specific animations in all the parks. That was one of the conditions we set for being included in the event”, Mrs Dendoncker said.

There will also be a garden picnic in Modave and Fréÿr. “Visitors can come with their picnic or order one to eat there”.

Around 10,00 people took part last year.
