Changing weather is expected this week in Belgium, with some showers, cold air and a risk of winter precipitation, especially in Upper Belgium, the Royal Meteorological Institute, IRM, said on Monday.

An abundance of low clouds on Wednesday in the Ardennes could reduce visibility there, and a few snowflakes are not to be ruled out.

Elsewhere there may be alternating clear and cloudy skies, with some rainfall. The weather will become variable in the afternoon, with some downpours, mainly in the north and northwest. The weather will gradually become dry along the French border.

In the Ardennes, there could still be some precipitation in the form of melting snow. Highs will be between 2 degrees in Hautes-Fagnes and 9 degrees on the coast.

On Thursday, a precipitation zone could extend across the country in the morning, with periods of rain and, in the Ardennes, melting any snow.  In the afternoon, the weather will become dryer with clear skies close to the French border and highs of 2 to 7 degrees.

The weather will be changing and very humid on Friday and at the weekend, IRM said.
