Sex and violence in schools: around 100 pupils excluded last year

In 2014, around a hundred pupils were excluded from schools in Wallonia and Brussels for sexual violence. That number represents almost three a week, reported Sudpresse papers on Friday. Although the figures seem to be going up, the education community claims not to have noticed the situation getting worse over the years. In 2013, 70 pupils were punished for sexual violence, that is, 2% of the 3,500 children excluded or denied re-enrollment. Last year, the official figure was 2.5% of the 3,800 excluded or denied re-enrollment, which is around 100.
